About APAME 2015

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Participants need to bring their own laptops, either apple or windows.
2. Zotero reference management software installed
3. Interested to know about using reference management software for organising references
4. Register at http://www.apame2015.healthresearch.ph/workshop

 

INSTRUCTION FOR INSTALLING ZOTERO

  1. Download and install firefox browser https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/
  2. Dowload Zotero http://www.zotero.org/download. You need to download the firefox version for the word plugin to work as there is now word plugin for safari, although Zotero can work on Safari
  3. For windows, click save file when prompt to save the file Zotero-4.0.28_setup.exe and open the file and install as per instruction.
  4. For those using Mac, click save file when prompt to save the Zotero-4.0.28 dmg file and open the file and install as per instruction. For Mac, this file is for a standalone version of Zotero, meaning that you can open the Zotero and work on it without having to open firefox browser.
  5. Once you have downloaded and successfully installed Zotero, you need to install the word processor plugins so that you can use the citation and bibliography generator on your word document.
  6. Go to http://www.zotero.org/support/word processor plugin installation
  7. Click on Install Work for Windows Plugin 3.1.20 (Firefox extension) to begin download. The file should also install automatically.
  8. For those using Mac, you will need Microsoft word for this work, so ensure you have a copy of this.
  9. Click on Install Word for Mac Plugin 3.5.11 (Firefox extension)
  10. Once you have installed Zotero onto your firefox, open firefox, and click on the tab ‘Tools’, then scroll down and click on Zotero tab and Zotero panel will appear at the bottom of your firefox page as shown.
  11. Once you have installed the Zotero Word Plugin, open your Microsoft word and for Word 2008, to access Zotero function, click on the § figure next to the help tab

The Asia Pacific Association of Medical Journal Editors Convention (APAME 2015) brings the region’s medical journal editors, authors, researchers, librarians, and publishers to the historic city of Manila, Philippines through a series of workshops, and discussions from 24th to 26th of August 2015.

Aiming  to upgrade the quality of scholarly publications in medicine and the health sciences in the Asia Pacific Region and to promote collaboration and exchange of information and knowledge among stakeholders, the Convention will highlight the impact of ASEAN Harmonization on region’s research and research agenda.
